Community Involvement

Roth Chevrolet Is Ready to Play Ball with Willmar Prairie Dogs as Part of National Chevrolet Youth Baseball Program
Roth Chevrolet to provide Willmar Prairie Dogs with new equipment, monetary donation and instructional clinics

Willmar, March 2, 2012
– Roth Chevrolet is partnering with the Willmar Prairie Dogs in Willmar. Roth Chevrolet has joined forces with the national Chevrolet Youth Baseball program to provide new equipment, instructional clinics, a monetary donation and an opportunity to raise an additional $10,000 through a Chevrolet vehicle sweepstakes. The program kicks off March 1 and runs through July 15, 2012.

“Youth baseball provides positive and productive life lessons for young people across America, and the Chevrolet Youth Baseball program is an extension of Chevrolet’s commitment to baseball, community and families. Roth Chevrolet is bringing that same dedication to youth baseball,” said Mark Roth, TITLE for Roth Chevrolet.

“There is nothing more American than Chevrolet and baseball and Roth Chevrolet wants to combine America’s favorite brand and favorite pastime together for our families in Willmar to enjoy,” added Roth.

The Chevrolet Youth Baseball program is beginning its seventh year, and has helped raise more than $13 million to aid local teams, affecting more than 2.7 million young people in communities where Chevrolet’s customers live, work and play. This year, about 1,600 Chevrolet dealers are participating.

Roth Chevrolet will present the Willmar Prairie Dogs with 10 new equipment kits complete with equipment bags, baseball buckets, whiffle balls, hitting net, batting tees and Chevrolet Youth Baseball T-shirts. The sponsorship also includes youth clinics featuring former MLB/MiLB players and coaches and instructors from Ripken Baseball.

In addition, Roth Chevrolet will present a check representing a one-time monetary donation to Willmar Prairie Dogs. The team also will have an opportunity to raise additional funds through a Chevrolet Youth Baseball Fund-raiser. Sponsored leagues across the country will each receive 2,000 fund-raiser entry tickets to distribute for a suggested donation, and each league will keep 100 percent of the proceeds it raises. At the end of the fund-raiser, five winners – one from each region – will win the Chevrolet Equinox or Chevrolet Cruze vehicle of their choice. Each participating market will award a secondary prize of a television and Blu-Ray player.

In addition to its commitment to youth baseball, Chevrolet also is the Official Vehicle of Major League Baseball™.

“Chevrolet vehicles are designed and built for families, so we hope young people and their parents will consider a Chevrolet as an official vehicle of their household,” said Roth.

As part of Chevrolet’s continued support of communities and youth baseball, Chevrolet is also bringing back Diamonds & Dreams for its third year.

Participants can enter to win a baseball field makeover for their community. Chevrolet will award 12 weekly field makeover prizes and the opportunity to win the Grand Prize of an all-new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. The sweepstakes will begin in mid-April; visit chevybaseball.com for more information.

Roth Chevrolet Hits Home Run for Area Youth Baseball
Roth Chevrolet Donates More Than $1,700 in Cash and Sports Equipment to Willmar Prairie Dogs

Willmar, September 12, 2011 – Roth Chevrolet, one of 46 Chevrolet dealers from the Minneapolis-St. Paul area that partnered with local youth baseball leagues for the 2011 baseball season, raised nearly $76,985 in total donations from the dealerships and private parties. In addition to monetary support, Roth Chevrolet provided Willmar Prairie Dogs with equipment donations, an opportunity to raise (and keep) up to $10,000 through a unique fundraiser, and participation in a baseball clinic led by Minnesota Twins and Ripken Baseball.

“Chevrolet has a long history with baseball and we’re glad we were able to bring that commitment to our youth leagues in Willmar,” said Mark Roth, Owner for Roth Chevrolet. “The instructional clinic was the highlight of the season for many of the kids. They had a blast – and, frankly, we did too.”
Roth Chevrolet partnered with the Willmar Prairie Dogs because of the league’s proximity to the dealership. Equipment donated by Roth Chevrolet included equipment bags, ball buckets, dugout managers and t-shirts. In addition, the dealership helped donate either a Chevy Cruze or a Chevy Equinox to be used as a fundraiser by the league. The winner of the fundraiser got to choose one of the two vehicles.
“We are delighted to be involved with the American tradition of youth baseball,” said Roth, of Roth Chevrolet. “Sponsoring Willmar Prairie Dogs gave us the opportunity to illustrate our commitment to the youth and families in Willmar and we’re glad to have achieved such positive outcome for the community.”

In 2011, more than 1,200 Chevrolet dealers participated in Chevy Youth Baseball. Now in its sixth year, more than $14 million has been contributed to youth baseball in the communities where Chevrolet’s customers live, work, and play.
